Start Up Finalists Of The Year

We are over the moon to have been nominated as finalists for the Business Start-up of the Year award as part of Doncaster Chamber’s Business Awards 2022. Skill Step Group Ltd has been shortlisted as finalists by the award sponsors, Hentons, and Doncaster Chamber following an entry we submitted in July 2022. As part of our entry we were scored on a number of questions about our business. The application process was a great opportunity for me to reflect on what we have achieved over the last couple of years and also to look ahead on our vision and what we want to achieve next.

We are asked questions around our business, our vision for the business, our performance against the vision, evidence of sustained growth and financial performance. We were asked to demonstrate how our business compares against our competition and how we have gained a competitive edge along with evidence of how we have improved our business and its financial performance through staff training and development. We provided examples of how we have ensured high service standards and exceptional customer care which has driven new and repeat business. Lastly we provided evidence of the wider contribution we have made to Doncaster’s economy and communities through wealth and job creation and also through corporate social and environmental responsibilities.

The next stage of the judging will include a visit from a Senior Doncaster Chamber and Sponsor Representative where we will need to prepare a short presentation at the start of the interview to allow judges to understand our business. Following the presentation we will have 45 minutes of additional questions put to us by the judges.

The Doncaster Business Awards will then take place on 1^st December 2022 at Doncaster Racecourse which we are very excited to attend. No matter what the outcome is I am proud to have been nominated as finalists.
