Machine Operator - (MOHBV) Highway Based Vehicle

This module is designed to train persons who are responsible for undertaking Machine Operator Highway Based Vehicle duties on Network Rail Infrastructure. The aim of the course is to provide delegates with the skills and underpinning knowledge required to undertake Machine Operator Highway Based Vehicle duties.

Learning Objectives

  • Undertake the necessary pre-work & running checks, use of the controls.
  • Complete the required documentation.
  • Start, stop, and manoeuvre, in road mode, including travelling up and down slopes and over rough ground.
  • Demonstrate the correct procedure for on/off tracking.
  • Travel the machine whilst rail mounted, in forward and reverse directions.
  • Carry out the work to the required standard and specification.
  • Emergency recovery.
  • Off track, park and secure.

Pre-Requisites (detailed)

  • Delegate must be at least 18 years old
  • Delegate must have current Machine Operator Core (MOC) competence.
  • Delegate must have a current full driving license.
